Question regarding ID sharks Empty Question regarding ID sharks

I am curious about their tails. I have 2 young ones & their tails differ enough to be an indicator maybe of something.
One has the tail fins spread wide whereas the other has them closer together.
Would there be any significance to this?
Both are the same size.

Hi sandman !
I am not an ichthyologist but usually the width of the tail is not the taxonomic differentiator, rather the number of rays. As these are young fish they still have some growth to occur; the taxonomic classification is standardized on adult fish.
Perhaps others may be able to share their expertise on this, but my opinion would be to wait for adult size and then compare. Hope this helps
