Yeah, I really like them too. They may take a while to fill in but when they do... they're sure nice hardy plants.

I am a huge fan of crypts. Patience is certainly needed to see them at there full potential but so worth the wait.

Question, guppyguy: Do you plant them and let them be for year/years or do you frequently pull them, split them and replant to spread them out and grow a more dense area of crypt? Obviously it depends on which Crypt....I recently did this with some of my wendtii's and am considering doing it with some of the larger more established ones in attempt to grow a wendtii garden area of my tank where the wendtii grows THICK. You always have such nice plants!

I will let the plants grow for a year before I separate any if I need too. But many times they spread out and fill in on there own nicely enough for me depending on the species. Some grow new plants right next to the mother plant while others will start a plant 3 to 4 inches away. New plants that grow right next to the mother plant I will end up separating and spreading out. I love a tank with nothing but a few species of crypts as I find it very natural and beautiful and thank you.
