LIMNOPHILA AROMATICA Empty LIMNOPHILA AROMATICA

This is a beautiful but challenging plant and very demanding. Light is the most important part for being successful with this plant. CO2 supplementation is also necessary, as is frequent fertilization and micro-nutrients. Iron is especially important for good coloration and growth. A rich substrate will accelerate growth, as this species often develops a substantial root system. Plants that reach the top of the aquarium will often begin to form emersed leaves.

As for reproducing this plant. The topping method is the easiest and most productive way. You should be careful to plant the individual shoots so that they do not shade one another. The continual topping of stems in the substrate will render the shoots of this plant bushier, as multiple growth tips will develop from the originating stem.

With its amazing coloration, it is most effective in the aquascape as a focal point. It shows up particularly well against a dark background or against species with small, bright, light green leaves. So this is a difficult but beautiful plant, but well worth the efforts for it stunning colors.

Yes it is a challenge and that is why very few people have it. But so far I am doing very well with it.

With my low light on the 30 gallon tank I wasn't even able to keep limnophila sessiliflora, so let alone this one!
